Your Donations at work

Your generosity fuels our ability to provide timely, life-saving assistance in times of crisis and strengthen communities for the future. Here’s how your donations are making a difference:

  • Disaster Relief: We deliver food, water, medical supplies, and temporary shelter to communities affected by natural disasters, such as floods, cyclones, and landslides.
  • Healthcare Services: Your support allows us to provide urgent medical care, including first aid and psychosocial support, to those impacted by emergencies.
  • Restoring Family Links: Through our services, we reunite families separated by disaster or conflict, helping restore hope and dignity.
  • First Aid Training: Your donations help us deliver essential first aid training to local communities and volunteers, empowering them to respond to emergencies and save lives. From treating injuries caused by accidents to caring for snakebite victims, this knowledge is invaluable, especially in remote areas with limited healthcare access.
  • Training and Education: We empower communities by teaching disaster preparedness, mine risk awareness, and safety protocols, ensuring people are equipped to protect themselves and their families.
  • Livelihood Support: Your contributions help vulnerable communities recover from crises by providing tools, training, and resources to rebuild their lives and livelihoods.
  • Clean Water and Sanitation: Donations fund vital programs that provide access to safe drinking water, improve sanitation, and promote hygiene in disaster-prone areas.

Testimonials

Daw Thidar Aye (Amarapura Township, Mandalay )

I dreamed of running a salad shop to earn an income, but without enough money, I couldn’t make it happen. After the severe earthquake, life became even harder for me, with no relatives to turn to for help. At that moment, the Myanmar Red Cross Society provided us with cash assistance- a total of 12 lakhs, given in three installments of 4 lakhs each. Finally, my dream came true: I was able to open my salad shop and words cannot express my joy. Having my own income has also given me confidence, and from the bottom of my heart, I sincerely thank the Myanmar Red Cross Society..

‌‌Daw Kyi Kyi Win (Tatkon Township, Nay Pyi Taw)

When the devastating earthquake struck, our house completely collapsed . Losing our home left me feeling hopeless. Soon after, the Myanmar Red Cross Society arrived to assess our needs. With MRCS’s cash assistance, we were able to buy timber, pay the carpenters, and even settle some debts, which gave us a chance to breathe again. Because of my heart condition, I also had to use part of the support money for clinic visits. Now, while working on the farm and running a small shop at home, life is slowly getting better. I am truly happy for this progress and deeply grateful to the MRCS. Although it is not easy to return to where we once were, we sincerely appreciate your kindness and would be more grateful for any upcoming support...

Ma Thandar Aung (Ward No. (1), Southern Shan State)

Within less than 15 days after repairing our house, it was destroyed in the earthquake. The roof and posts all collapsed, so now we’re staying in a small bamboo hut. Since we don’t have a steady income, we only get by when my husband catches fish. Every five days we take them to the market to sell, but the price is only 1,500 kyats per viss, so we live day by day depending on the catch. With the cash assistance from the Myanmar Red Cross Society, we plan to rebuild our home and also use it for our children’s health. We are truly thankful to the Myanmar Red Cross Society for their support during such difficult times. And we also wish them health, happiness, and safety always...

Daw Mar Mar Khaing (Obo Ward, Sagaing)

“While the earthquake began to struck, I was at work. After the first tremor, I rushed home to find my daughter. On the way, a second earthquake hit, destroying buildings and leaving me desperate with fear for her safety. When I finally arrived, seeing her safe with my mother brought me such relief. Our home was destroyed, so we stayed at my mother-in-law’s house...” After the earthquake, my heart trembled every night. I thought it was only fear, but I didn't know I was carrying a new life. In the middle of the chaos, this baby came to us as a gift. The Myanmar Red Cross Society also provided us with a spacious timber house where the children can breathe fresh air. It was a blessing in disguise and I feel complete now. Our family is living happily and safely, and I am whole-heartedly grateful...

Daw Nyein Nyein Ei (Pandaw Ward, Sagaing)

“After the earthquake, my husband passed away, and I had to survive with just my child. During that time, our finances were very difficult, and we lived only on the donations we received. Our house collapsed completely , and since we couldn’t afford to rebuild, I lost my hope too…” Now, we’ve been given a new house what we could never have afforded even if we saved for a whole year, and I feel truly happy for that. I am also trying hard to get our livelihood back on track. In this difficult time, I am deeply grateful to the donors and to the Myanmar Red Cross Society for their support from the bottom of my heart ...
